About Us
Gloucester Student Band (also known as GSB) is a 501c3 nonprofit group of student musicians in grades 5-12 who live in Gloucester, directed by Jamie Green Klopotoski. Founded in 2022, the mission of GSB is to give students in Gloucester an opportunity to enhance their musical abilities outside of school, and to offer musical performances for nonprofits, fundraisers, nursing homes, and events, in order to give back to the community and to share their love of music to all. GSB is a recipient of an Awesome Gloucester Foundation grant, and has performed at a variety of locations: the Gloucester Fishtown Horribles Parade of Trees, Lobster Trap Tree Lighting, Gloucester Shaw’s Grand Re-opening, Gloucester 400 New Year’s Eve Ball Drop at City Hall, Ipswich River Watershed Association Paddle-a-thon, GHS Racial Equity Event, Annisquam 4th of July Bike Parade, Magnolia Community Farmer’s Market, Trinity Congregational Church, The Bluebird Performance Venue, Rockport Legion Band, and Cape Ann Community Band. In August of 2024, they went on their first ever Summer Tour to New Hampshire to play at a variety of places including a Manchester NH Fishercats Baseball Game and Canobie Lake Park.
